First Grade Homework 

 Students will bring home a homework packet on Monday nights.  The packet will include spelling practice and a math worksheet.  Students need to return their homework packet every Friday.

Homework Tips

Help your child achieve success with homework by:

• Finding a quiet place that your child can use each day to do his/her homework.
• Working with your child to choose a particular time to do homework each afternoon or evening.
• Making sure he/she has the needed materials, such as pencils and erasers before beginning to work.
• Making sure he/she has taken care of any needs before beginning (ex. bathroom, snack, drink).
• Encouraging him or her to take responsibility for returning homework. Students can put their homework in their folder and put their folder in their backpack on their own.
