First Grade Spelling Words
Spelling skills and example words will be sent home each Monday. Spelling tests are given each Friday. Each test consists of 12 "surprise" words that follow the phonics skills we are learning. Students will also be tested on spelling sentences, which test their ability to use what they have learned. The students do not know the words or sentences ahead of time. However, they are all words that the students have learned to spell.
