Non Certified Positions


Assistant Treasurer
Location: Central Office
Effective: July 1, 2023
Rate of Pay:  Based on Experience
Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Qualifications:

 

  1. Post-secondary business education or two years equivalent office experience in accounting and fiscal procedures.
  2. Preferred college degree in accounting, business management or related field from an accredited college or university.
  3. Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Assist treasurer in receiving, depositing and accounting for all school funds. 
  2. Assist treasurer to complete and file, at proper times, all forms, reports, papers and other requirements as prescribed by the auditor, department of education or other state or local agencies.
  3. Assist treasurer with daily correspondence and filing, receiving, and preserving all records of the school district.
  4. Assist treasurer in receiving and preserving all voucher for payment and disbursements made to and by the Board of Education.
  5. Assist treasurer to render monthly financial reports.
  6. Reconcile payroll bank statement.
  7. Balance the STRS ledger/SERS ledger.
  8. Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  9. Disperse payroll to all employees.
  10. Maintain payroll deduction authorization forms.
  11. Assist treasurer with the preparation of all fund budgets/appropriations and yearly, quarterly, and monthly reports.
  12. Assist treasurer with grant budgeting, PCR reports.
  13.  Prepare contracts, salary notices and non-renewals.
  14. Log inventory and prepare annual reports.
  15. Works cooperatively with auditors.
  16. Assist treasurer to update fixed asset records.
  17. Prepares end-of-year reports.
  18. Assist treasurer in proper administration of public records, including records retention, official responses to records requests, maintenance of Board meeting documents including agendas and minutes, and ensures proper procedures are followed.
  19. Assist treasurer to verify that employees are placed on correct salary schedule. 
  20. Assist treasurer to process the payroll, benefits status and reconciliation, benefits plan administration, and employee leave administration.
  21. Reconciles payroll, benefits and employee leave records.
  22. Distributes paychecks or deposit confirmations forms as directed by treasurer.
  23. Verifies the timely payment of payroll taxes and the completion of all required reports.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned by the treasurer, superintendent and/or Board of Education.
