Foreman sparkles in Panthers win

New Lexington 2, Morgan 1

Chase Sheppard drove in the go-ahead run with a one-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning, sending the Panthers to their first win of the season.

Jared Wycinski started the sixth with walk and moved up on Gage Morgan's sacrifice, and Seth Burgess drew a walk to put runners on first and second. After a wild pitch, Sheppard's single sent home Wycinski to break a 1-1 tie.

Sky Matheney drove in the other Panther run with a fielder's choice. Dylan Nesselroad, who suffered the mound loss, helped his own cause with an RBI single.

Aaron Foreman tossed a four-hitter with five strikeouts to get the win, allowing only four singles.
