Sue Grissett

Hello!

My name is Sue Grissett and I live in Zanesville, Ohio. I cannot believe this is my 10th year working in Special Education as an Intervention Specialist.  This is my second year working at New Lexington High School.  This year I am part of several inclusion classes including Physical Science, Biology, American History, and Ecology.  I am so excited to be teaching my first year of Small Group English classes including English I, II, III, and IV. I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work in 1996 from Ohio University. I worked at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville for 23 years before becoming a teacher.  In 2015, I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  I previously taught in a variety of high school educational settings in Columbus, Ohio.  Also, I taught self-contained 6th Grade for Zanesville City Schools and co-taught four years at Foxfire Schools in Zanesville. I enjoy working with students and their families and helping them all feel a sense of success during their time in high school. I am passionate about helping students determine their strengths and helping them find a way to turn them into a career after high school. I love the sense of community that New Lexington Schools offers all students.

I have been married to my husband, Brent, for 37 years and we have an adult son, Seth, who brings us much pride!  In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym and riding my bike at Buckeye Lake.  My hobbies include reading, scrapbooking, photography, and I absolutely love traveling! I also enjoy my seven feline companions!  I’m looking forward to meeting new students and their families and having a great school year making memories with all my students!
