Mr. Watts is coming to New Lexington City
Schools with 30 years of educational experience. He is a 1982 graduate of
Crooksville High School. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio
University in 1986 and received his Master of Education degree from Converse
College in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2007.
He started his
teaching career at Roosevelt Middle School in Zanesville where he taught 7th
grade math and helped coach the track team. From Zanesville he moved to
McConnelsville and spent 10 years teaching mathematics and coaching baseball at
Morgan High School. From McConnelsville he moved back to Zanesville and taught
mathematics for 3 years at Zanesville High School. After 14 years of teaching and coaching in
Ohio, Mr. Watts and his wife, Tara, decided to move to Spartanburg, South
Carolina. For the past 15 years, Spartanburg School District 6 has employed him.
In 2001, Mr. Watts helped lead the Dorman baseball team to the state finals.
While in District 6 he taught math for 2 years at Dorman High School, 5 years
at Dorman Freshman Campus and 8 years at Dawkins Middle School. While at the Middle School he was the interim
assistant principal.
Mr. Watts is married to Tara Hayes from Crooksville. They have been happily married for 28 years. They have 4 lovely children, Dillon 24 years old, Hannah 19 years old, Dustin 17 years old and Devin 14 years old.
Mr. Watts is
looking forward to another exciting year here at New Lexington Middle School.
