Welcome back to
another exciting school year. This year
our building theme is Color the World
with Kindness. Our goal this year is that our students learn how to be kind
to others. This school year we will be using a new behavior program called
PAX. This is a positive behavior support
system that encourages students to make good choices thought-out the day.
I want to take
this opportunity to emphasize to students how much our faculty and staff look
forward to your return and how much we care about your success and well-being.
Our focus is not only on what you learn in class, but also about what type of
person you are. Our goals go beyond teaching specific academic content. We want
students to be responsible, show initiative, be creative, set and meet goals,
understand and relate to various cultures and backgrounds, be able to resolve
conflicts and problems, be able to think critically and learn from mistakes,
and be contributing citizens to the world. To foster this development, we will
continue our efforts to build and maintain a collaborative environment
distinguished by mutual respect. Of course, we will be ever-mindful that
character does count.
I would like to thank our parents and guardians for their continued support. Together we can create the kind of safe, nurturing environment that will enable our students to reach their full potential. Throughout the year, there will be multiple opportunities to participate in school programs and activities and engage in meaningful dialogue about your child’s individual experience. We look forward to partnering with you in the educational process and encourage you to stay connected over the coming weeks and months.
I am honored to be
the Principal of New Lexington Elementary School and look forward to serving the
students, staff, parents, and community. We are
here to Care, Share and Learn Every Day.
