Casey Winnenberg- 6th grade Language Arts

Grand Canyon
Hello!
My name is Casey Winnenberg. This will be my tenth year teaching, and my seventh year teaching sixth grade. I graduated from Ohio University in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Education. I studied Middle Childhood Education with a concentration in Language Arts and Mathematics. I went back to school at Muskingum University in the summer of 2017 and obtained my generalists in Science and Social Studies. I have always loved school and the act of learning.
I grew up in New Lexington and currently reside in New Lexington with my husband, Marcus, and son, Chase. I have always wanted to teach in my community, and I am now living my dream!
I am excited to embark on a new school year! Go Panthers!!

Classroom Expectations

Behavior
Respect is a virtue that I strongly believe in for a classroom setting. I think it is very important for teachers and students to respect one another in a classroom. If we can learn to respect one another, we will be successful at many things.

Homework
Students will have a reading log and spelling weekly. Each student is expected to read 20 minutes a night and complete a spelling activity. Please sign up for Remind 101 to receive daily reminders of homework.

 Classroom Supplies
Students are expected to bring the needed supplies to class everyday.  They will need to bring a pencil, their binders, agenda, AR book, and homework folder to class everyday.

The last thing I expect from the students is to have FUN!

Our class will be using Remind 101. This is a way for teachers to communicate with parents/guardians. I will be using Remind 101 for daily homework assignments and any upcoming quizzes/tests. I have the class link below! Download the app and join now!

Friday Folders

The students will have a folder sent home every Friday. This folder will contain our class newsletter, graded papers, and any important information that needs to be sent home. Please check for this folder every week, sign, and return it to school with your student.
