Principal's Message

New Lexington High School Community,

I am both honored and humbled to serve the students and staff of New Lexington High School as Principal. This is my sixth year as building principal, my nineth year in the district and my twenty-third year in education. I have previously served the district as assistant principal for both the Middle and High Schools.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome you to New Lexington High School. Our highly talented staff is dedicated to the success of each student, assuring that they not only have the skills to be college and career ready, but also good citizens who represent our community in a positive manner. We pride ourselves on engaging both our families and community partners in the responsibility of educating our youth. This collaboration is key to our continued success and is a cornerstone and compass for much of our work.

We also pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our students in an ever-changing world. In addition to a solid curriculum that satisfies the state graduation requirements, we also offer numerous elective courses in all core content areas, performing arts and are host to the largest (and still expanding) FFA program in the state of Ohio. Additionally, we provide a number of personalized and customizable options for a student’s secondary experience, including opportunities to earn numerous college credits while still in high school (CCP), a fully customizable K-12 online eAcademy (in which students can complete all requirements at their own pace, experience a litany of enrichment courses and even earn college credit) and our continued success in regard to workforce development (providing students skills and credentials deemed essential by our local businesses and industry that will directly lead to local employment in our community after graduation).

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and successful school year filled with many memorable and rewarding experiences. Remember, our Panther community is here to serve our community and stakeholders. Should you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us. I would also like to invite you to our campus to attend any of our numerous events that showcase and celebrate our students.

Best regards,

Tony Thorngate
