NEWTON TOWNSHIP - Competition drives athletes, especially high school track and field ones as the postseason nears.
Despite weather shortening the Dan Adams Invitational, the meet
provided insight for area competitors with 17 teams competing on Friday
at Maysville High School.
New Lexington’s Kameron Bowen had the opportunity to see where he
ranks. The first-year runner won the 100 (:11.14) and had the top
preliminary time in the 200 before weather canceled the finals.
“I didn’t come for the title,” he said. “I had my doubts I could compete, but I gave it all I got. It gives me a nice boost going forward.”
