New Lexington to induct 4 into 2014 Hall of Fame

NEW LEXINGTON – Four new members will be honored as the 10th class to be inducted into the New Lexington Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday.

Rebecca Bryant-Fink, Nicole Blubaugh-Moran, Karley Mohler and Zeb Wood make up the class and will be recognized at halftime of the football game with Coshocton at Jim Rockwell Stadium.

Rebecca Bryant-Fink

A 2001 graduate was a four-year letterwinner and three-time Muskingum Valley League player of the year in softball. She was a three-time district honoree and two-time All-Ohioan, won three Times Recorder Athlete of the Year honors and was part of the school's first MVL championship in 2001. Her parents are Scott and Denise Bryant, and Fink works for the Perry County Clerk of Courts Title Department.

Nicole Blubaugh-Moran

Blubaugh-Moran graduated with Bryant-Fink in 2001 and was a four-time MVL and two-time district selection in softball. The pair also led the Panthers to two district titles and four sectional championships. She was a member of the 2001 MVL basketball champions and earned all-league honors in basketball and volleyball. She went on to play softball at Muskingum, helping the Muskies reach three College World Series and becoming a three-time All-American and All-Ohio Athletic Conference athlete. She is the daughter of Marla and the late Pat Blubaugh.

Karley Mohler

The 1997 graduate played four years of volleyball, basketball and softball and was an All-MVL and district pick in all three sports. Mohler was a two-time All-Ohioan honoree and was named the MVL and District 12 basketball player of the year as a senior. She went on to play basketball for Rio Grande, earning All-American and all-conference honors. Mohler is the daughter of Shirley and Steve Mohler and works for The Dannon Company and Evian Water in Hilliard.

Zeb Wood

The 1993 graduate earned three letters in wrestling, two in football and one in track. He helped the wrestling team with four consecutive unbeaten MVL seasons and was on the 1990 MVL football title team. Wood had a career record of 98-7, including a 41-1 mark as a senior where he placed third at the state wrestling meet. The Panthers won three sectional titles and one district championship with Wood, who was named the East/Southeast District wrestler of the year and Times Recorder Athlete of the Year after his senior season. Wood works for the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center in Zanesville.
