Calamity Day Information

As of January 12, 2015, New Lexington City Schools has used its fifth and final calamity day allowed by the state of Ohio before scheduling make-up days.

This year, New Lexington will again use Blizzard Bags to make up the next three calamity days, should they be called.  Blizzard Bags are intended to be the equivalent of one class period of instruction, and will be graded based on the policies of the classroom teacher for graded work.  Blizzard Bags will be assigned as of the calling of a calamity day, and will be due two weeks after that date.  New Lexington City Schools will be able to use Blizzard Bags to make up the next three calamity days, if necessary.  Blizzard Bags are posted on classroom teacher websites or learning management systems, and are available in printed copies (upon request).

Should New Lexington City Schools need to use additional calamity days beyond the three Blizzard Bag days, we will make them up on February 16 and April 2, and then begin adding days to the end of the scheduled school year.
