Brett Vermillion enters his third season with the boys.
The Panther boys were ninth in the MVL with an 11-41 overall and 2-12 league mark.
Seniors
Nathan Gordon (sprints, jumps), a district finalist, and Jeff Rayburn
(PV) return, as do juniors Will Bartholic (discus, sprints), Jimmy
Hammers (sprints, hurdles), Brett Moore (distance), Brent
Newlan (distance), Gage Pacino (PV), Wyatt Saxton (distance), Jacob
Williams (sprints, jumps) and Matt Toner (throws), and sophomores Gaven
Guisinger (sprints), Jacob Poling (distance), Cai Reynolds (sprints,
jumps, hurdles) and Jacob Vance (sprints).
Newcomers include
senior Noah Dye (throws), junior sprinters Kam Bowen and John Mautz,
sophomore Avery Mohler (long sprints) and freshmen C.J. Ratliff (long
sprints), Will Stenson (distance), Zach Butler (high jump, sprints)
and Joe Mohler (distance).
Vermillion sees promise since the team
features depth and experience. He hopes the Panthers not only improve in
the MVL and district, but can send athletes onto the regional and
possibly state meets.
"We added depth to our sprint group and
gained valuable talent in the distance events. Our newcomers lack
experience, but make up for it with work ethic and talent," he said. "At
this point, our goal is to build a strong foundation and refine our
abilities as the season progresses."
