In second grade we will have monthly projects in place of homework. Be watching for the project outline to come home at the beginning of each month. Our goal is to create a project that you and your child can create together. Be as creative as possible! We also do spelling in a different way. We call it word study and we study a different spelling pattern each week. Take time to hunt for words with your child that exhibit the weekly pattern. You can look on road signs, cereal boxes, newspapers, anywhere that there are words!
We also encourage math fact practice at home. You can use playing cards, dice, paper/pencil or websites.
