Spring 2015 Test Data Comparisons

The 2014-2015 school year marked the beginning of the era of Ohio's State Tests, which have replaced the Ohio Achievement Assessments and Ohio Graduation Test.  These tests align to Ohio's Learning Standards, as well as the Common Core State Standards, which are designed to be more rigorous and explore a deeper level of knowledge than the previous Academic Content Standards.  Additionally, Ohio's State Tests are designed to assess students' readiness for careers and college.

Should you ever have any questions about Ohio's State Tests, or about Ohio's Learning Standards, please feel free to contact your school office.

Similar District Comparison Data
Each school year, the state of Ohio uses information such as Average Daily Membership (enrollment), Poverty as a Percent of ADM, Percent of Population in Administrative/Professional Occupations, Median Income, Percent of Population with a College Degree, Percent of Agricultural Property, Population Density, and Percent of Minority Students to create lists of "similar districts" that schools can use to compare data.

Based on these factors, it has been determined by the State of Ohio that the following school districts are most similar to New Lexington City School District:  Vinton County Local (Vinton), Wellston City (Jackson), Rock Hill Local (Lawrence), Ridgewood Local (Coshocton), and Nelsonville-York City (Athens).

The following charts below represent comparisons between New Lexington City School district and the five schools listed above.  These charts, similar to those comparing the Perry County Schools, represent a percentage of students scoring Proficient or better on Ohio's State Tests.  You can click on each image to see a larger version of the chart.
