Hello! My name is Ashley Stenson, and this is my 11th year teaching 8th grade ELA at NLMS. I graduated from New Lexington HS in 2006, and went on to earn my Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Education in 2010 from The Ohio State University, and continued my education there obtaining my Master's Degree in Education in 2012.
Since I began teaching, I also started coaching the NLHS Cheerleaders, so you will probably find me on the sidelines during football season. This will be my 11th year coaching the Varsity and Junior Varsity squads.
Besides teaching and coaching, you will see my husband and I chasing our two kids around. Elizabeth, 8 year old daughter, is in 3rd grade at Junction City Elementary. Elizabeth enjoys cheerleading, dance, and playing soccer and softball. She's extremely spunky, dramatic, and full of energy! She keeps us on our toes. We enjoy all Disney princesses, Trolls, tea parties, singing, crafting, and playing outside on the trampoline or riding bicycles. James, our 1 year old son, is wide-eyed, playful, curious, sweet, and so funny!
I enjoy a high energy class with discussions and discoveries about literature, language, and the people behind the words. I am SO looking forward to diving into school year with you in hopes that you might even enjoy English just a little bit! :)
